My project was to create a marquetry decoration on a new medium on which I had never worked before: the handbag. To carry out this handbag project, I trained as a leatherworker. I wanted to manage this project entirely, and I was curious to discover this know-how. I loved learning new gestures, handling the leather, understanding the fabrication – slow, tedious, hyper-technical – of all the steps to finally see the finished product, the handbag with my marquetry decoration. I enjoyed this project so much that I already have the idea of making new handbags, always with this idea of multi-material marquetry decoration.
