Honeysuckle

This picture is part of two marquetry pieces created and exhibited at the 2025 Heritage Fair, whose theme was Art Deco.
I was invited by Benoît Marcu, furniture designer and restorer, to exhibit at his stand during the 2025 Heritage Fair at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris.
His space paid tribute to Art Deco, combining period furniture and contemporary creations.

Whenever I see honeysuckle, I think of my grandmother—it was her favorite flower, and she even wore a perfume that smelled like honeysuckle.
For this piece, I deliberately simplified the natural curves of the honeysuckle to capture the geometric, stylized spirit of Art Deco.
A balance between intimate memory and decorative language.
