This picture is part of two marquetry pieces created and exhibited at the 2025 Heritage Fair, whose theme was Art Deco.
I was invited by Benoît Marcu, furniture designer and restorer, to exhibit at his stand during the 2025 Heritage Fair at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris.
His space paid tribute to Art Deco, combining period furniture and contemporary creations.
This is the third time that the theme of roses has appeared in my work.
The first rose dates back to the beginning of my research into multi-material marquetry, using shagreen and brass.
The second is the Rose Piaget, the very first watch dial I created for Piaget (mother-of-pearl version and wood version).
And today, this new rose—a pink rose—whose design I deliberately simplified, with almost straight lines, echoing the graphic forms of Art Deco.
