Resonance is the fruit of a collaboration with Yann Von Kaenel, master guilloché engraver. For this piece, Yann executed his guilloché work in rose gold, adding a particular warmth and depth to his goldsmith’s craft.

Faced with this rosette shape, one vision immediately imposed itself: that of a stained-glass church window, where light filters through and transforms. Each material speaks to the others, each reflection calls forth another, a visual and sensory resonance.

I chose two main materials: beetle wing, with its iridescent, almost unreal green, and mother-of-pearl, luminous and delicate. Together, they naturally resonate with Yann’s guilloché work. Beech, straw and parchment completed this palette, bringing warmth and softness.

I worked on a gradient, delicate yet intense, designed to accompany movement rather than freeze it. The materials seem to come alive, as if taking part in a silent dance. A resonance is not a single sound, it is what it awakens, what it sets vibrating around it. Here, it is light that resonates, and with it, something more intimate, almost spiritual.

My marquetry, nestled beneath the rosette, is not its counterpoint but its natural extension, as if the piece had been born from a single hand.
